Set on a quiet hillside above the bay, the apartment opens onto a panorama of turquoise water, the marina, and the long curve of the southern coast — framed, on the inland side, by classical columns and a softly coffered ceiling that runs through every room.

Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two living areas, a generous open-plan kitchen, and a wide private terrace among bougainvillea and palm. Buccaneer Beach is three minutes away on foot. The hard part is leaving.

Two cats live here.

Gadsby and Noisette — independent, sweet, and very much part of the household.

They have their own routine: a little time inside, a little time exploring the terrace and garden, a quiet nap somewhere with a view. Guests are not asked to feed them or care for them — they take care of themselves and the housekeeper looks after the rest.

If you love cats, you'll feel right at home. If you've never met one and you're curious, they're patient teachers.

Because Gadsby and Noisette come and go from the apartment, we ask that bookings come from households that are comfortable with cats. Allergic or cat-averse guests may want to look elsewhere — and we'll happily say so before you book.

The main living room.

An open volume framed on two sides by sliding glass doors. The bay sits inside the room. A taupe sectional faces a low wooden coffee table; an olive velvet armchair anchors the corner; a sculptural brass pendant floats overhead.

At the other end, a black-and-white marble dining table seats four under its own quieter chandelier — close enough to the view that breakfast becomes an event.

High-gloss white cabinetry running floor-to-ceiling along two walls, set against deep wine — confident, a little theatrical, and seriously equipped. Twin KitchenAid wall ovens, a side-by-side stainless fridge with ice and water, a full-size dishwasher, and gas cooking on a granite-topped peninsula.

The peninsula opens onto the dining area and the bay beyond, so the cook is never alone with the view. Storage for ten houseguests' worth of provisions; counter space for a serious meal.

The den — a second living, on the quieter side.

An entirely separate sitting room set behind classical columns and a curtain of soft drapery. Two emerald velvet armchairs, a leopard-print chaise, a TV tucked into a slim console, and an antique pastoral tapestry presiding over the wall.

Ideal for a movie when the rest of the house wants the view to itself, or for a quiet afternoon of reading away from the sun.

A house with good bones.

Coffered ceilings throughout. Travertine columns marking the threshold between living and den. Wide-format porcelain floors in a soft mineral grey. Generous arched openings instead of doors — the kind of details you can't fake in a rental built last year.

The space flows: dining into living into kitchen, terrace beyond. Twenty people gather here as easily as two.

Outside

A terrace in the trees.

Terracotta tile underfoot. Bougainvillea, palm and hibiscus over the railing. The bay laid out below like a painting that keeps moving.

The terrace runs the full length of the apartment — wide enough for sun loungers, a wrought-iron dining set under the eave, and a pair of Caribbean-blue Adirondack chairs angled at exactly the right spot for sunset. The garden is mature: cacti, herbs, succulents, climbing vines.

Mornings are coffee and birdsong. Evenings are rum and the long horizon.

Seven days, the easy way.

A relaxed, balanced week built around the apartment — beaches and sunsets, one great boat day, a couple of island-hops, and the food the island is famous for. Everything below is within an easy drive of Peridot Road.

Land & settle in

Collect the rental car, stock up at the Simpson Bay supermarkets, then walk three minutes down to Buccaneer Beach for a first swim. Sunset and dinner on the terrace as the bay lights up.

Ease in — you have all week.

— Day 2 · Monday

Maho, Mullet & the planes

Morning at Mullet Bay, the island's best swimming beach. Late afternoon at Maho to watch the jets skim the sand, then drinks at the Sunset Bar as the day cools off.

Check the arrivals board at Maho for the big-jet landings.

— Day 3 · Tuesday

Catamaran & snorkel day

The big one: a full-day catamaran from Simpson Bay out to Anguilla's cays — Prickly Pear or Shoal Bay — with snorkeling, lunch, and an open bar. Back in time for a quiet evening.

Book a day or two ahead; bring reef-safe sunscreen.

Grand Case & the French side

Cross to the French side: Friar's Bay or Happy Bay in the day, then Grand Case — the island's culinary capital — for dinner. Pick a fine-dining table or graze the lolos (open-air grills) on the waterfront.

Tuesday–Friday in season, Grand Case hosts its evening street market.

St. Barths day trip

Catch the fast ferry from Pelican Marina (a few minutes away) to Gustavia, St. Barths — 45 minutes each way. Wander the harbour, lunch in town, and a swim at Shell Beach before the afternoon return.

The "Edge" ferry leaves early; check the day's schedule when you book.

Philipsburg & Loterie Farm

Morning stroll along Philipsburg's Front Street and Great Bay boardwalk for shopping and the Old Street cafés. Afternoon in the cool of Loterie Farm — zip-lines and treetop trails, or just the spring-fed pools and a long lunch.

Cruise-ship days make Philipsburg busy; go early.

Slow morning, last swim

No alarm. Coffee on the terrace, a final swim at Buccaneer or Kim Sha, and a sunset drink to close the week. Pack light — you'll be back.

SXM airport is twelve minutes away when it's time to go.

A suggested rhythm, not a schedule — swap any day for a slower one. We're glad to tailor the week to your group; just ask when you book.

Pelican Bay, on the Dutch side.

A quiet residential pocket between Simpson Bay Lagoon and the open Caribbean — close enough to the energy of Maho and Philipsburg to dip in, far enough to keep evenings calm.

The apartment sits above the bay with one of the most photographed views on the Dutch side. Walk down for sand and rum punch; drive ten minutes for fine dining; twelve minutes for the airport when it's eventually time to leave.
